The Joseph Hampton Ltd Roll of Honour

Wednesbury War Memorial Group has recently acquired through kind donation a Roll of Honour which holds local significance to Wednesbury. Originally commissioned by the local firm of Steel Nut & Joseph Hampton Ltd, this scroll commemorates the names of 150 of the firms employees who served during World War 2 (with those being killed during the conflict being marked with * next to their names).

This Roll has generously been acquired for the Memorial Group by Wednesbury born Ivan Keeling. This generous gift was gratefully received as this Roll had deteriorated with the passage of time, but is now in the process of being restored after years of sad neglect. We are pleased to say that following the generous donation of the Roll monies have now been raised to restore this unique artifact, and it is currently in the hands of local restorer Gary Morgan who has been commissioned to carry out the required restoration work.
