Donations Appeal
|
The total cost for adding the name plaques to our town's War Memorial is going to be £60,000. This is not a small sum of money for ordinary folk such as ourselves to raise! However, Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council have generously promised a contribution of £15,000 towards the project, but as of now (Spring 2008), this still leaves us a way to go before work can begin on the long overdue upgrade of the monument.
Some people may feel the required work is entirely a civic responsibility, but If you feel as we do that this is a matter for the community itself to mark and commemorate the sacrifice made by our own townsfolk, then you may wish to make your own personal contribution toward the cost of adding the name plaques to the site.
When making your own decision about whether you wish to contribute or not please do ask yourselves one simple question - "How would I feel if this was one of my own sons or daughters whose names where due to be commemorated?" |
|
| Having made your decision, if you wish to contribute toward the cost here is how to do so: |
| |
If you are a UK resident we will happily accept either a cheque drawn on a UK based bank account or a British Postal Order.
